Nick Poyner is a Session Drummer & Tutor with over 20 years of playing and teaching experience. Trained with world-leading drummers, he studied Popular Music Performance at music college, holding Grade 8 drums and professional teaching qualifications. His career spans high-level live and studio work, including touring with The Drifters, recording for The Godfathers, and working with blues artists Dino Baptiste and Rebecca Downes. As a session drummer, Nick records across a broad range of projects, from commercial ads to solo artist releases. His wider skillset includes live sound engineering, musical direction, and tour technical work. As a tutor, Nick works with students of all ages and abilities. His lessons are tailored, engaging and goal-focused, covering technique, musicality, grades and live performance. Helping students build drumming skills, confidence, discipline and creativity.
