Piano – Nic Holmes

Nic is an accomplished pianist with over 20 years’ playing experience and four years’ teaching experience. Classically trained, he specialises in jazz and draws influence from artists such as Oscar Peterson, Joe Sample, Peter Beets, and Greg Phillinganes. He performs twice weekly with the Crushed Velvet Quartet and hosts a monthly jam session in Leamington Spa. Nic previously led Loughborough University’s Big Band and received a Loughborough University Arts Scholarship in 2021. He is also a multi-instrumentalist with extensive experience on saxophone and bass guitar, holding Grade 8 Jazz Alto Saxophone (Distinction, Trinity), Advanced Jazz Ensemble (Distinction, ABRSM), and a Gold Arts Award.
